June Recommendations Calendar

It’s finally (basically) summer! There’s so much to do in Chicago this June. Festivals are starting up and performances are breaking outside.

I’m totally pumped for farmers’ markets to start again and to watch shows from a blanket on the grass, ahhhh! Check out some of my recommendations for this June. There’s plenty to keep you busy.

June 2-12- Pivot Arts Festival-Edgewater and Uptown

June 3-18-The Cure-Walkabout Theater-Chicago Cultural Center

-This group is awesome! I’ve written about some of their past performances and a preview of this piece. They engage the audience in the work and blend the lines between theater, movement and music.

June 4-Chicago Rhythm Fest-Auditorium Theatre

June 4- Arts Circle Celebration– Northwestern University

-This is a full day of exciting performances at Northwestern of all mediums. Check out the line up and you’re sure to find something up your alley.

June 9-19-The Art of Falling– Hubbard St. Dance with Second City- Harris Theater

June 9-July 17- Northanger Abbey– Lifeline Theatre

June 15-August-Grant Park Music Festival

June 21-Make Music Day Chicago

-This is a special day on the summer solstice in which music will be happening all over the city. Go see some pop up performances or make some music yourself!

It’s an exciting month ahead! Get out and enjoy it. The vibrancy of the arts truly comes alive in Chicago in the summer months.
